QUESTION 3: Is having only a high school diploma sufficient to homeschool my children?

Parents are the child’s first teacher and are equipped with certain skills, tools, and training. Like teachers, parents learn and gain experience on the job.  Most parents are convinced that they are competent enough to teach ABCs and 123s.  Although many parents may venture to homeschool the lower grades, they are more concerned about their aptitude for teaching the higher grades.  Do not despair.  You have options. First, you can learn with your student and tackle the subject together or pay for a tutor.  Second, you can participate in a local cooperative homeschooling program.  Third, you can do virtual public school where the child has access to a more competent teacher. Fourth, you can dual enroll your child in college.
