QUESTION 7: Will my child lack social skills as a homeschooler?

The idea that homeschooled children lack social skills is a myth.  There is no quantifiable data or facts to support this.  Homeschooling can create a myriad of opportunities for productive socializing that is not available to the average child.  Not only are social opportunities available to homeschoolers because of their unique positioning and availability, but also, there is a plethora of socially stimulating activities available to homeschoolers through homeschooling groups, sports and academic teams, and organizations.  For instance, co-ops, competitive sports, debate clubs, teen court, physical education, organized field trips, etc. are available to homeschoolers.
